On Memorial Day week-end we have our annual yard sale.  It is located at 6515 Portage St. NW  North Canton, Oh. 44720.  This is a fund raiser for our Outreach.  If you have anything that you would like to donate, please call us at (330) 452-1716 and we will pick it up or you can drop it off 2 days before the yard sale.  Please help us out, as we try to reach out to others in need.  We have had a mini-van and a car donated to us.  We have placed these with the two families that were in real need of a car.

We also, have many home made wood-work items like this Horse clock for sale.  If you are interested in ordering a home-made wood clock, or other items we can email you a list of items that we have.  For more information, please call or email mark@agapeoutreach.org

Prayer Balloons

On the national day of prayer, which is the first Thursday of May, it is our annual prayer balloon launch. We launch a lot of balloons filled with helium and on the bottom of each balloon is a verse from the bible that we have picked out. We also laminate these in case of bad weather. We started doing this in 2002. Every year we meet and pray that the wind will carry these balloons to someone who needs to hear a word from the Lord.

Here is a response that we would like to share with you from 2002.  This was our first annual Prayer Balloon launch.

On May the 2nd, 2002, National Day of Prayer, we launched balloons with a card attached that had a verse from the Bible on each one.  We met at a park here in Canton, Ohio and there was a chill in the air. It looked like it could rain soon.  I arrived early at the park with the balloons.  As I was waiting for everyone to show up, I remember thinking how childish this feels.  This is something that little kids do in school.  So I started pacing nervously around the area that we were going to launch these ballooons.  I had about two hours to kill before it was time to release these.  I was cold, nervous, and feeling like a little kid.  So, I started to pray.......and pray.....and pray.....sharing my heart with the Lord, that as these balloons were  released that someone would be encouraged by the verse from the Bible that was on the balloon.  We had prayed about different verses that we should use, and went with six different ones.  As everyone started to arrive and we tied off the balloons with the cards, being totally honest, I still felt like why am I here doing this, as this is something that little kids do.  It takes a willing vessel and CHILD-LIKE FAITH.  After we set the last balloon up, we once again gather in prayer.  Here is a response that we received from Wexford, Pa. (about 110 miles away).

God Bless you from Debbie in Wexford Pennsylvania! My father is terminally ill with esophageal cancer and my family as well as many prayer groups, churches, and friends around the country having been prayer the past four weeks for his comfort and inner peace that only the Lord can give.  Often times my husband and I pray from a rock garden at our home near a little pond where we feel surrounded by God’s magnificent nature.  Yesterday, I specifically prayed for a decision concerning hospice and where my father should spend his final days and I asked the Lord to send me a sign that my father would not suffer. This morning, Saturday at 9:00 a.m., as I approached my favorite outside prayer spot, there in the bush next to my chair was a pink balloon.  At first, my thought was that it had blown from someone’s mailbox celebrating a birthday, then I noticed the yellow tag, I then thought ..... ah .... an elementary school group .... NO ... Hallelujah ... Praise the Lord ... it was an answer to my prayer via Canton, Ohio and Agape Outreach. I am sharing this unbelievable story at church tomorrow as well as with two prayer groups (as soon as I can stop crying and get my composure!)  I will share this story FOREVER especially with those who do not believe in the power of prayer! I know now that my father must come here to our home for his final days and I am now assured that he will be in the comfort and assuring hands of our precious Savior.  What a better place to meet Jesus than near the garden where he placed an answer to prayer! God Bless your ministry at Agape Outreach.  God is good all the time ....... all the time God is Good!  When we do something for the Lord most of time, we do not know the impact if any,on the other person’s life.  I can tell you that God’s Word never returns void.  All we need to do, is to be willing to share the "Good News" with others.

Find a way to share God's Word with others.  The best way someone once said when witnessing, is to only use words when you have to.  They should be able to see God's love through you.  The world should see that we are different.  They should see God's Love through us by the way we act, walk, talk, and live our lives each and everyday.

Calendars

Once a year we send out a Calendar filled in with the encouraging Word from the Bible. This is not a calendar that you can write on as each date is filled in with a verse from the bible we send them into prisons and nursing homes so each and every day when they get up, they can read an encouraging word from the Bible.
